Sarah Belk King's writing experience began with grad school's academic prose but quickly transformed into words that make magazine copy sing! King began her career as an assistant at House & Garden, worked her way up to an associate editor.

Several years of freelance writing (Food & Wine, Cook's magazine, Redbook, Woman's Day among others) led to her appointment as Food & Entertaining Editor at House Beautiful. In this capacity, King assigned, edited, and wrote features articles for the publication. Five years later, King landed the esteemed position of New York Senior Editor for Bon Appétit magazine. Because Bon Appétit is based in Los Angeles, King covered the dining, style and entertaining scene in New York and beyond.

At the same time --burning the candle at both ends-- King became the author of her first book, Around the Southern Table, which garnered a James Beard "Best Book" nomination. King now resides in the Northern Rockies where she works as a freelance writer about food, wine, travel, design and lifestyle for publications ranging from Metropolitan Home, More, Big Sky Journal, Wine Review Online and many more.
